Dr. Neil Levine

Board certified Internist with a specialty in Geriatric Medicine and a Masters Degree in Nutrition.  He is a partner of the Medical Group of North County, Medical Director of Rancho Vista Retirement Community and Health Center and  a Hospice Physician at Hospice by the Sea. His practice focuses on the care of elderly patients with a special interest in dementia and preventative care.  Dr. Levine also serves on the Medical Advisory Board of ActivCare® -Residential Alzheimer’s Care.

Dr. Alan Berkowitz

Graduate of University of Michigan School of Medicine, Residency and Fellowship at UCSD.  Dr. Berkowitz is the psychiatric consultant for the renal and cardiac transplantation teams for the Sharp Hospital system.  He is the Clinical Consultant to various Pharmaceutical companies including:  Pfizer, Abbott, Astra-Zeneca, Takeda and Forest.  Psychiatric Consultant to Las Villas de Carlsbad, Las Villas del Norte, Rancho Vista and ActivCare La Mesa Retirement Communities.  He is also a Medical Advisory Board Member for ActivCare® -Residential Alzheimer’s Care.

Dr. Michael Lobatz

The medical director of the Rehabilitation Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, Dr. Michael A. Lobatz was a James Scholar and graduate of the Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine at the University of Illinois, Chicago.  Dr. Lobatz completed his internship and neurology residency at the University of California, San Diego where he also served as chief resident.  He remains on the clinical voluntary faculty as an assistant professor of neurology.

Dr. Lobatz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the Chief-of-Staff of Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas with specialized interests as a neurologist in dementia, Parkinson’s disease, neurorehabilitation and in brain injury.  As such, Dr. Lobatz provides direction and oversight of the Brain Injury Program at the Rehabilitation Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, the only such program accredited by CARF in the San Diego, Imperial and Riverside county areas.

Dr. Lobatz has participated in numerous clinical research trials during his career including stroke, brain injury, cognitive diseases, multiple sclerosis and many others.  He also serves as a member of the San Diego Brain Injury Foundation board of directors where he remains committed to promoting the health, education and welfare of the community including the military injured in San Diego.

Dr. Karl Steinberg

Geriatrician in full-time clinical practice of Long Term Care in North County area, trained at UCSD, medical school at Ohio State, undergraduate at Harvard.  On the Clinical Faculty at UCSD and Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital's Family Medicine Residency Programs. Also a Certified Medical Director (CMD) under the auspices of AMDA, and Board-Certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.  President of the California Association of Long Term Care Medicine.  Associate Medical Director for Sharp Mission Park Medical Group, and attends patients at 15 nursing homes and multiple residential facilities.   Associate Medical Director for Las Villas de Carlsbad Health Center, and Medical Director for Hospice By the Sea in Solana Beach.
